This brilliant red Anemone seemed to call for focus stacking to preserve its sharp attire.

The original (I think there were perhaps only two, or at the most three) photos were taken with a D300s with a Sigma 150mm f/2.8 macro at f/9.5. It's a brilliantly sharp lens.

I was simply trying to capture the stunning beauty of this flower.
Comments welcome, and thanks in advance.

Linnet, I don't recall commenting on one of your images before, so welcome to the Flora gallery. Your stack certainly brings out the detail but I particularly like the light in this. Beautiful image. I hope we'll see many more from you.

Nice stack Linnet. The shadows are a little annoying but probably not as annoying as my nit-pickyness.
Beautiful colors and details.

Oh yes........I love my Sigma 150......yes I do. :toast:

A beautiful job stacking and capturing the detail of this beauty. I think the comp. and squared format looks great.

Lovely detail, Linnet. I think you succeeded quite well with your short stack.

Tiny suggestion and that's to open up the shadows on the right side only. They seem to draw the attention.

Nice job,

Carol

Love the contrast between the bright bloom and the dark BG, and your square crop works perfectly with this image. The lighting really lends some texture to the petals. Nice work.

A fine stack, Linnet, with great lighting to accompany it. The reds and the textures of the petals have come out extremely well - there's a vital feel to the flower that I like very much. Hope to see more of your work.
