Acadia - Signs of Spring

So, a last minute decision to head up to Acadia on Friday was made...and the 5-hour drive flew by...

Less than ideal skies had me focusing on other subjects (those that didn't include skies).

While it's still VERY early in the spring season...especially in Maine...there are still signs of budding trees...and general signs of life.

The stillness of that park this time of year is incredibly cathartic...and a world away from what it will be in about a month.

C&C are all welcome...and seriously appreciated!

Robert

Gorgeous color and reflection Robert. The bluish rocks in the water add another dimension.

I like this very much, Robert. It reflects a common scene there with a small quiet pond, rocks protruding from the surface, and a wooded hillside with softwoods and hardwoods. I was puzzled by the reddish cast to the buds of the hardwood trees as the trees appear to be birches which do not have that cast. If these are red maples, then the color is spot on. That said, if they are maples then the stems are too white and should be toned down to a soft gray. Other than that, a very pleasing composition.

Love the sense of stillness and serenity here. The colours are outstanding, and the reflections ideal.
Nice!

Robert, what makes this picture unique is the pattern of the trunks and branches embedded in the red and green tones. The slight variation in the reflexion keeps my attention. Nice and interesting work!

Shame in Oz we don't have such amazing springs. This capture made me miss european version of spring. Sorry, I know it was taken faaar from Europe :))
Excellent composition! The colours, FG rocks are very well taken. The only thing is, the capture seems a tiny tod soft. The details in the trees are visible but in my eyes, a tod more details in them would add to the whole scene I believe. This comment Robert is only based on my personal preference so please don't treat it as a critique. You actually can't critique such lovely captured scenes :)

Robert, This is a very calming scene with a nice feel. The combination of evergreen and the new budding trees looks great. The reflection and rock in the still water is also very nice. I like this.

The stillness is quite evident - quite a pretty image that exudes peacefulness. The tress that are budding out are especially attractive. My only nit is that the shoreline is tilted a bit.

This is a tough one for me. I think the subject is definitely worthy--especially the shapes/color of the leaveless trees here. If I try various screen crops to try to maximize that feature, the one i like best is a pano of the top (2/3 top, 1/3 water) I find the rocks get im my way here and are a mild distraction--but i understand why you included them. :wavey:
