Canon 7D With EF 500mm f4 & 1.4 tc

Well here is my 2nd attempt at a good woodie shot. The drake was protecting his mate as she feed. Shot 10 minutes from my house! Thanks for looking!

I like the reflection a lot in this shot Michael, he doesn't look as sharp as she does but not bad, perhaps stopping down a little bit more would have gotten him just as sharp, although it doesn't look like you had a lot of light to work with. :toast:

The water is wonderful Michael, I love all the squiggly reflections. I think the comp works well and that your exposure looks good. I also think the drake is softer than the hen, perhaps going to f13 or so might have helped there? Colors look very natural to me and the background habita gives this a sense of place.

At first impression I though this was kind of busy, but after further review.......I love it the way it is!!!

Michael, love the water reflections - all of them. Your exposure looks good and I appreciate the natural habitat. I do think the drake looks sharper in your repost but it's hard for me to evaluate at 720 pixels.
