Sand/Ice Stalagmites

Photo was taken along the Lake Michigan shore in Door County, Wisconsin this past February. This is a shot underneath and ice shelf that was created at the edge of the beach and the water. The stalagmites are approximately 8-10 inches high. I just thought they looked very interesting.

Very nice. The colors and shapes are very attractive and I'm going to spend a lot time trying to figure out how nature made this happen.
