Taken in Caminha in Portugal in July 2009 - took it backlit to show the light through the wings - I just wish I had used a higher aperture to make the whole butterfly sharp... :jump:

Techs:
Nikon D60
Tamron 90mm Macro lens
Handheld
F8
1/320s
ISO 200

really like the effect of the light through the wings, really like the composition too,
my only critique aside from the narrow depth of field would be that the light seems a little harsh particularly on the flower, using something translucent like a clear plastic wallet would soften it a bit but i don't know if the butterfly wouldn't fly off,
anyway aside from that a lovely image

Great composition :toast: We always wish we'd done something different in a shot, it's how we learn for the next time

A version 2 could be hard - it was taken in Portugal in 2009:biggrin:
