From this morning, this bird cooperated for loads of images, but most of the time in rather frothy water conditions. This is the only time the bird got in calm water and decided to stand still for a few moments. Larger image provided.

Olympus E-3 ZD300 F2.8 +EC20 Wimberley I, ISO400 1/1250 f5.7 0.0EV, cropped to 4x5 format from 4/3rds original

A nice environment for this shot Bill. I like the look back too. Bird looks nice and sharp. Kind of wish the mud area was not not there and it was all water, but it is very nice as posted.

A very serene feel to this photo Bill, the willet's pose is great and I love the calm water. Nice soft light, details and sharpness.

Nice details, lighting and exposure here Bill. I like the comp but I do wish there was a bit more separation between the bird and the muddy shore. :toast:

The long bill accentuates the head turn making for a very interesting pose. It's fine as is, but I'll echo the comment on the bit too close muddy area. Easily changed and might be worth it. But then there's enough detail in the subject that it stands out nicely.

The light in this image is really sweet. The comp., dof and focus are very good. Very nice mood to this pic.
