Spring Rapids

A quick trip into the Smokies yielded a couple of keepers, including this one of rapids on Chasteen Creek inside GSMNP. Colors are straight out of the camera - no saturation or color adjustments, just a levels/curves adjustment to bump the contrast separation.

C&C appreciated.

Hi Barry - Nice scene you found here and I like your choice of shutter speed. I would add some contrast to the back part of the photo, and it almost looks to me like your polarizer wasn't turned right for the foliage or something. It could just be that it's a brighter scene than what I am used to here in the Northwest. Also, you could probably brighten the water in the cascades a bit, as it looks more grey than white on my monitor...

This is certainly a lot like Pacific NW mood and color, nicely composed. The water is perfectly captured but I'd darken the greens a bit

Love everything about this. Very pleasing woodland scene. Would also work if you cropped some from the top. :toast:

This is nice. The green and white sort of simulate a monochrome like palette. Could maybe see burning the trees at the top down just a bit.

Barry, very nice scene you captured. I agree with other comments; slight boost in contrast and saturation.
