Flock Bronzewing

A nomadic and highly irruptive species of tropical inland Australia. In the 1800s flocks used to darken the skies but grazing of grasslands has severely reduced their numbers. This is the male.

Really a nice look at this bronzewing Rob. Love the underside view. Nice light and great colors. Looks sharp. Very well done on a fast flyer.

I agree with Ron, this is a very nice view of the birds underside showing off some wonderful colors..
Great technique, it looks like it was moving at a pretty fast clip.

Killer flight shot with nice light - the whites are a little hot of course but that's minor

Great pose Rob! Love how this shows all of the dteails & patterns of the under side of the wings and tail, a very good head angle too with nice eye contact. Lovely light, sharpness and details. This bird looks very similar in shape and form of the pigeons here in NA.

Seems like there was more of every species in the 1800's. What will it be like 100 years from now?
Very nice, Rob. I'm sure that this guy was speeding along and you were able to capture him just right. Nice and sharp and looking right at you. The whites look pretty good to me. :toast:

Wonderful display of feathers and colors. I like how the tail feathers are fanned out. Nice job in getting this shot and that is quite a name for a bird but I can see why they would be called bronzewing, well done.

Nice spread of wings. Great clarity. I would prefer a diagonal composition to increase dynamism.

Beautiful bird and great pose!
Given that it will be awhile before I get to Australia, I really love the view of it's wonderful birds that you're sharing with us.
