Hepatica & Bud

Now I can put the snow blower away for five or six months -- the Hepatica are once again sprinking the woods with their subtle colors.

I battled the spring breezes for quite a while to get six shots to focus-stack. Next time, I'll bring my little plastic film wind tent.

Canon 50D
Sigma 150mm. Macro
1/160 sec. @ f/8; ISO 200
Tripod; Mirror up
Diffuser disk
Six exposures focus-stacked in CS5

Wayne, this is gorgeous!
Really love the soft colours, the fine detail, and the lines and "pose" of the flower.
Just great!

Stellar craftsmanship Wayne. Love the "hairy" details and that bud overlooking the bloom is great, it has a nice glow. Nice stack; Learning to do that is on my short list. Nice job. :toast:

Really nice, Wayne. I was wondering how you achieved all that dof on the flower and kept the blurred BG. I reread your techs and see you focus stacked. Great job. :toast:

Beautiful detail, Wayne. And the stacking is a plus and a half. Great DOF for f/8. Well done.

Wayne, a beautiful photo of a beautiful flower. Here the Hepatica is a bit different: an unbilievable blue and different leaves. Splendid.
Cheers.
