Bald Rock Patterns

These interesting patterns on the granite surface reminded me of animal skin, perhaps of a zebra, and really drew my eye to the scene.

I've been trying to nail the right toning to match the mood of the location, and I am most happy with this latest attempt. Would like to hear your thoughts on the result and the overall contrast?

Many thanks for your time,
David.

Very interesting image David. Lots of neat shapes and lines to look at, and I really enjoy the BG too. The toning looks very nice to me, and I'm not a big fan of toning. My only concern is that it appears a tad bit on the dark side overall IMO; perhaps that was your intention.

Thanks Bill. I agree the image was too dark. I've posted a lighter version for comparison. I appreciate the feedback

I think the repost is an improvement, as the original version appears a little dark to me. I find the fg very interesting and like the variations in tones.

The reworked version is an improvement David. The foreground is certainly interesting. Girraween NP is somewhere I would love to visit.
