Garden-Monthly Challenge
by Barbara Sammons
Image was taken today, May 1, of The Quilt Garden at the North Carolina Arboretum in Asheville, North Carolina. The spring planting of this garden consists of over 4,000 violas, pansies and nemesia. The Arboretum is one of my favorite places to photograph as their gardens are forever changing. As I was photographing this garden today, a wedding was in progress just behind the garden wall.
Camera is a Nikon D7000, manual focus, initial processing in Nik Software's Viveza and then back to Photoshop where I applied the Palette Knife filter. A final stop back to Viveza to saturate the color a bit and add some structure.
I hope this processing fits the criteria for the monthly challenge. Comments always welcome. Thanks for viewing this image.

8 commentsI think I would be very tempted to clone some yellow flowers in the lower left corner to add some balance to the image, but I might be totally off base. The suggestion comes because the lines in that general area are somewhat askew.
Cheers,
Carol
