This caterpillar was hanging from a tree about 20feet he then dragged his thread with his mouth and gradually reeled himself up to about 6feet which was in-line with me on the bridge, the ball of fluff he is carrying is the thread that he was hanging by,when i took the photo he let go and the wind carried him off again, isn't nature marvellous, wish I new what sort of Caterpillar he is

Surprised at how you got away with 1/200 at 420mm in the wind.

Nice shot :toast: I'd like to see a little bit more on the bottom if possible.

Very nice - more DOF would be good, but I appreciate that you were already on 1/200s :toast:

Hi John, well I looked in my book and I thought the moth caterpiilar had 2 sets of legs at front and back but don't know too much about them so you poss are right.
Des I took about 20 pics as it crawled up its thread and only two sharp,so only just got away with it

Simon I could have more space at bottom but thought more thread at top would be better

Certainly different! I agree about wanting the extra space at the bottom, but can understand why you chose to show more thread intead.

Nice to see something different - maybe a little more space at the bottom and a bit more depth of field.
