Return of the Skimmers

Yea, the Skimmers are back at Bolsa Chica Eco Reserve, California. I first went to Bolsa Chica the first week of June last year. I started photographing birds in May and the Skimmers are the reason I have fell in love with shooting birds and researching them. There had only been a couple over the last three weeks and I was getting impatient and yesterday they showed up in force. No skimming in the reserve yet, but that should start in a couple weeks when they start nesting.

Cropped to 60% of full frame.

Comments are appreciated.

Wonderful image - especially the large version.
Great eye, colours, flight pose.
Really nice!

Nice and sharp Harry. I might add a bit more behind the bird and a bit less in front. Just my taste in comp.

Good sharpness, nice detail, good exposure, good wing position. I agree with Ron B about the placement in the frame.

Great job. Nice detail and sharpness. Color in the beak is fantastic. Agree about the comp.
