Scissor-tail Flycatcher

This Scissor-tailed Flycatcher was photographed during a trip to Corpus Christi. I was hoping to photograph spring migrants such as warblers & buntings. An opportunity to photograph this STFC at Hazel Bazemore County Park arose and the soft background and perch appealed to me. I only wish I would have set my aperture to f8.

Canon 7D, 300mm f2.8 lens. Aperture f5.6, ISO 400, 1/800, Handheld from car, Aperture Priority, Center weighted

Thanks in advance for viewing and commenting on this image.

Nice one, Carlos. I see a small amount of sharpening halo above the head. An easy thing to fix. I like the pose, and the perch is pretty cool too. :toast:

For me the F5.6 works well, it gives the bird a soft look, almost like it has hair instead of feathers..well done..IMO

Nice pose, perch and BG Carlos, f/8 would have been nice to hopefully get the whole tail in focus. This must have been cropped a fair amount as the noise is substantial for iso400. I'd run some NR and fix the halo mentioned.

Very cool bird and perch. Agree with what the others have said to tidy it up.
