I spent some time photographing Seals at sunset recently. I made several shots and I liked this one best. Hope you like it too.
Nikon D300s @ 500 mm, 1/200 sec, F 7.1, iso 200 on a groundpod.

I like the contrast between the dark seal and the golden water. If anything, I'd like to see even more water, leaving the seal even smaller, tempting the viewer to look closer. Beautiful image.

Bags of atmosphere in this one, Sandra. I think I would prefer to see the seal just a tad lower in the frame, but that is a very minor thing indeed.

I like this Sandra the colour are lovely, the sort of picture that makes you relax. Which for a teacher under this government is hard to do! :biggrin: :toast:

As already mentioned, your composition is spot on and the colours running throughout the image are very nice. I think you have just enough detail showing in the seal's face for the viewer to connect with. Nice work, Sandra.

Hi Sandra,
I like the coloured patterns in the water and the minute amounts of light glancing off the head of the seal.
