Derek: I hope you will take this as the high compliment I mean when I say this reminds me very favorably of Pat's work. Extraordinary lighting and wonderful color. Many thumbs up! >=))>

A superb image, Derek ! The dramatic lighting - the deep shadows surrounding the leaves - sets off these flowers to perfection. Just beautifully composed and executed.

Gorgeous. :toast:

Edit: I just saw the reminder in the discussion forum that we should say what we like about an image when posting comments. So, let me add that I like everything about this image (light, comp, processing, subject, BG, etc).

Lovely shot. I really like the composition with the hints of leaves and how much texture you've captured in the flowers. I find myself wishing that the flowers were just a bit brighter.

Derek:
This is wonderful and looks like one of Pat's fabulous portraits, down to the almost metallic look to the petals.

The daff reminds me of Wordsworth's 'I wander lonely as a cloud' In fact my family and I were in Grasmere recently and drove past Dove Cottage where Wordsworth stayed with his sister when he wrote that poem about daffodils. The poem was based on a his sister's description of their walk around the Lakes district published in the Grasmere Journal. Unfortunately for us, the daff had already finished blooming due to the warm weather.

Cool processing Derek and a nice image. I like the subtle darkness of the leaves and stems and the slightly amp'ed up blooms.
