Wind Turbine with repost

Last week, I had the chance to visit a section of Kansas that I hadn't been to before. After dropping off my wife and several 11 & 12 year old girl scouts at their function, I had a little time to go out before dark. With no idea where to go, and stormy skies, I went out to a small field of wind turbines I had seen coming into town. I was pleasantly surprise to find the gravel road that led straight to the turbine. I used a slower shutter speed to give the ends of the blades a slight blur and sense of motion. Does this help or hurt the image in your opinion? C&C always welcome and appreciated. 7D, f/11, ISO 200, 1/100, 23 mm, small crop

The blur works OK Rob. I wonder how this would look in B&W with a bit more contrast.

Here is a b/w version, per Eva's request. Thanks, Eva.

Hey Rob, I like the shot for the strength of the subject and the road leading the eye into the shot and on up the stanchion to the windmill. For me it's toss up on the color shot over the b&W shot. Both have their positive points. I guess it's all up to personal choice.

I like the overall sharpness and didn't notice the blur in the blades until you mentioned it. I really like the straight on shot of the road. It looks like a pedestal in the thumb. Very neat how the same image can be stark and static, but dramatic. This would make a good candidate for some "artistic" processing that might enhance the stormy feeling in the clouds. Just for fun, you might download the trial version of Topaz lab's Simplify filter.

The B&W definitely has more impact for me Rob. Thank for posting it.
