Mount Cook, New Zealand
Fragments from the Tasman glacier floating as icebergs in a lake captured on my NZ workshop a few weeks ago at sunrise.

When faced with a stark sky....focus on a brilliant composition. Perhaps good advice...even though I may have just made that up. The geometry of this scene grabs me...and it's a brilliant handling of a scene that could be rendered in a million ineffective ways. Kah Kit...well done. The foreground ice paralleling the V in the reflection of the range is particularly enticing...and it draws me in to a scene that I may have have otherwise walked away from. After seeing this image...my eyes are open a bit wider to possibility. Oh...and nice detail in the shadows!

I like the subtle light and tranquility here Kah Kit. The warm glow on the left slope is also wonderful.

One thing I've learned is that icebergs of the non-clear variety are really, really hard to use in pictures well. I think they add some nice sense of place to this one and it all works for me.

Lovely shot. I like the hint of the just risen sun between the mountains on the right and how it balances the alpenglow on the left. The foreground is dark, the way is should be at dawn, but there's enough light to see what's there and create the feeling of being there.

I think it's a very nice composition. I love the soft warm light on the peaks too. The foreground is nice as well, and interesting. It just lacks a little something due to the low contrast levels, I think.
