Finally a Tulip

Gallery: FloraPosted May 10, 2011179 views22 comments
Oh well, got to try something finally. Had to open the petal forcibly a little bit :frown:. Nikon D200, 50mm F/1.8 Lens, 36mm Kenko ET, F/3.2, 1/320 Sec, ISO200 and Handheld.

Are two petals converging in LRC or diverging from LRC ?

Thank you for your comments on Trout Lily and would love to hear your thoughts on this one.

Ram,

Missed your unique perspective on floral. Makes me think of peach pie and vanilla ice cream, but I'm full....The Trout Lily was nice pretty straightforward but this is classic Ram. Looking at your gallery you have been posting but this one really caught my eye obviously.

Ram,

In addition to the color palette, what really appeals to me in this is the subject/ground ambiguity. I can take at least three areas of the image as subject depending on my interpretation and all work effectively. To me the composition in this is particularly appealing. Superb work.

I just realized, this has a Cubist feel to me.

Converging or diverging? Good question. Since we read from left to right I guess they're converging but I've always looked at images like this and considered them diverging......(now have a headache).

Love the wash of warm color and the shallow DOF.....terrific abstract. :toast:

Ram:
Converging or diverging - depends on whether you are top-down or bottom-up person.
Love the bright color wash with hints of texture. :toast:

Can't quite work out the converging/diverging thing, Ram, but, boy, do I like this ! Wonderful variations in tone, a touch of texture and lush colours all add up to yield the feel of the flower. Superb !

I was missing this beauty, Ram! A cloud of warm colors, at sunset. Only two colors, red and yellow, that melt in many different delicate nuances. Splendid.
Take care.
