Was going to post my first shot of a Yellowthroat Warbler taken yesterday..But this Cardinal kept calling my name.
Makes ya wanna be a bird! :)
F/8, 1/2000th, ISO 640, 1D M3, 300mm f/2.8 + Kenko 2x ext and natural light around 11:00am. Partly cloudy.

If you would like to turn your yard into a "red zone" too, here's an article that might be helpful.

Seems you are quite adept at catching Cardinals aquatics. Intriguing action shot! Where was it taken?

Howard,
beautiful bathing shot. I love the droplets everywhere. I can see the pleasure of the bird to do that. :toast: :wavey:

Beautiful,Howard. I like very much the droplets all around. Maybe the tail is too close to the border, but that's a question of taste. On my screen it seems a little too dark.

Cheers, Luca

Howard, I think you have captured an image that says "FUN". I love looking at this image. The closed eyes and the patterns of the water and water drops make the shot for me.

Some nice action and well exposed Howard. I like it as posted, but wonder what a very low angle would have looked like.

Fun, Howard. Bathing birds can provide some really neat images, and this one is great.

I really like how you caught this bird bathing! They are quite amusing as they travel through this ritual. Wonderful all around!

Good job getting to freeze the water droplets. Looks like the cardinal is having a lot of fun. :toast:
