For Pat in his quest for the illusive white Calla he needs to complete his triptych. Probably not the one, but, I couldn't pass up the opportunity for a little fun.

Canon 5D MkII 90mm T/S f16 single image....( I can't do 50 image stacks like some people :wavey: )

Well it figures - while I'm out looking for the perfect white, you're photographing it. (smile) And this one would certainly have completed my set. Great pov Bob and I think you generated a lot of energy in the image from it, in the way you've emphasized the lines and shape of the flower. Superb comp. Perfect exposure. Gorgeous flower and a masterful image. You should leave the white calla market alone now, until I find mine.

With any luck I'll never do another fifty image stack. (smile) The 25 year old Leica does afford very fine control of the focusing ring and I've gotten into the habit of only turning it a touch for most of the stacks I do. At macro range, that means lots and lots of images. I think I could have certainly done fewer but seems like the smaller you make the increments, the happier Helicon is in processing them. So that's what I've been trying to do.

Bob:
You have certainly emphasized the curves with this POV. The exposure is perfect and I also like the lines and textures here. A good looking image. For my taste, I would probably have back up a little and give more breathing room for this very energetic composition.

Beautiful image Bob. However I do agree with Gary regarding a little more room. A very small, insignificant nit for sure but I'm just sayin.

Bob, I think you've found a beautiful subject in this Calla. The details in this single shot are great. The upper portion of the Calla has so much energy. I find myself wondering what the effect would be if the bottom portion of the Calla were perpendicular to the base of the image. Would also suggest removing the small portion of green just to the left of the stem; I think the curve of the Calla against the black would be awesome.

Cheerio ;^)

Beautiful, graceful calla!
Nice detail - but seems very tight in the frame to me. IMO, it would be even more effective if much smaller so we could better appreciate the overall effect .
(My opinion only!)

Lovely -

Can't recall a calla shot with this lighting, Bob. Boy, does it work well ! The flower is perfectly set in the frame - a first rate image IMO !

Terrific flowing image. Nice job of keeping the details in the whites while retaining a sense of brightness. I also like how you've offset the flower in the frame.

Bob, Why do people sell Calla Lily plants only during Mother's Day in Milwaukee  ? I have been looking to buy yellow-red colored ones (specific ideas in mind) but have not been able to locate.

This is a superb shot with your choice of lighting, highlighting the subtle veins in the petals. Count me in on the stack-challenged people

Bob, what I like most are the curve lines and the design drawn by the calla on the blackboard. I too prefer the image reposted.
Cheers,

Lovely classic white on black. I like the vertical crop but agree it could use a little more breathing room.
