Early Spring in Virginia

This is my first post in this forum.

Here is a photo of a Virginia Civil War Battlefield with an abandoned farm house showing the early signs of Spring. The only resident, a vulture, can be seen in the tree watching me after I surprised him walking around his house. He jumped out onto that tin roof with a lot of noise. The sky is bland but I feel it shows off the trees well and made for a nice reflection in the boundary canal.

Comments and critiques please. I learn from every post

A rather atmospheric scene. The gloomy sky works but I would like to see more contrast between the trees and the building which seem to blend into each other a little.

It sure looks gloomy, which fits the nature of the battlefield nicely. I'm amazed to find a blooming Forsythia in a gloomy picture.

I think the dark processing works well here Andrew. BTW - Welcome to M&N Gallery.

If the sky were bright, I think the image would not evoke such a message. Like this a lot Andrew. Well shown.
