Flight of Four

by Harry Harris

Gallery: AvianPosted May 17, 2011279 views24 comments
Weather was supposed to be dismale in the morning at Bolsa Chica but from sunrise to 8:30 it was beautiful. Set up on my favorite spot on a bridge to catch some skimmers. I captured this flight of four and thought the subtle reflection of the clouds and skimmers plus the wing positions of the outside vs. the inside skimmers was nice. The skimmer activity is picking up but no real skimming efforts yet in the reserve.

Fairly large crop.

C & Cs are appreciated.

Balan, Here is another in the series I liked. They were a little farther away in this one and I like the narrowing from left to right.

Very neat, graphic images, Harry. I like the first better with it's wider spacing of the birds.

Really good form, Harry. Two wings up, two down and then reflected. Love it.

Harry ..love both images ....as a photographer looking for patterns, I love the XOOX formation the first image and the triangle tapering to the left you have achieved in the second.

Well Done

I like what you like Harry. That and the jaggedness in the wing reflections of the two outside birds.

Harry,
You really nailed this one. The thumb nail just makes you look at it because you have no idea what it is. The fact that the symetry is perfect makes this a very special image Harry. Even the two outer bird reflections are equally ruffled while the two inner bird reflections are not wavy at all. What I really like is the cloud reflection. That just caps this off perfectly. And to think you got this at Bolsa Chica which almost never has flat water is all the more impressive. I vote for pic of the week!! :toast: :toast: :toast: :toast:

Harry. Great composition. The image is sharp as expected and well exposed. The smaller image doesn't do the image justice. Well done.
