John, such a good example of camouflage that at first I only saw the body and thought it was some kind of worm. Great shot.

What an amazing critter! He so looks like a leaf and stem. The OOF front leaf and dark area on the left I find somewhat distracting; what would a tight crop almost eliminating them look like? (It would then be a vertical photo.) Great detail on the creature and great find, John.

this is very interesting, Without the oof fg and bg, I think the butterfly would get lost. You did a great job focusing the viewer on the subject while still emphasizing its amazing camoflage capabilities.

Thanks all. Interesting about the cropping. I thought about a vertical and then decided the colour and oof bits of the shot were there as part of the story really. . I'll try a tight crop and see what it looks like

John:
You have good eyes to spot this one. What a perfect camoflauge! Like to see a vertical crop version of this.

Wow! What a gorgeous butterfly! I think you've done a great job capturing the beauty of the butterfly, while also showcasing its unusual camoflage. The butterfly stands out nicely - but in a subtle way. Love those colors too. Well done, John!
