Morning Delight

Not sure what type of flower this is, but I took this shot out in my back yard in 2010 one morning.

The background was too busy, so I extracted the flower and put in on a black backdrop in CS4 then..

Canon 40D, 100-400L IS @ 285mm, iso100, 1/500sec, AP, f/5.6, tripod used.

C&C welcome

Dave

David: Looks like a type of dahlia. Terrific management of the strong light and the whites especially. Striking shot IMO. >=))>

Perfect exposure Dave and very striking on the black bg. I'm not suggesting that this image needed it but since you have the PS skills you might want to play with gradients, vignettes and textures in your bg. I've only recently started playing with them and I've liked the results well enough to at least continue to play with them.

Striking portrait. The background makes the flower really pop. My first thought was that the flower is some type of hybrid daffodil... could be wrong. :toast:
