Sorry about the corny title.
This is an Elepant Hawk Moth caterpillar on a Fuchsia plant.
Normally the food plant would be Rose Bay Willow herb 9Epilobium) but for some reason they have taken to Fuchsia plants in hanging baskets etc.

Only 2 stacked images (in CZM)this time and a lot of chuck out sequences. You think they are still but they are not !
D200
Sigma 50 mm macro.
100ISO
15th sec @f5.6
levels. Paint Shop Pro.
80% of full frame.
Cheers

Hey John, really like the critter head peeking over that great looking flower. Well done. :toast:

Kinda reminiscent of a bulldog with the heavy wrinkles and all. this is a great composition. I'd like to see one of the images processed without stacking as there seems to be a lot of halos that I attribute to the movement of subject between shots.

Great capture, John! I like your comp, the colors, the BG, and the good detail. Would like to see the yellowish BG cloned out in the right top corner and made the same green as the rest of the BG.

Thanks all . I can see the stacking problems in this one but I don't have the original images as there would be thousands to store. There was some movement I recall.
Thanks again.

I think a slight blur along the back edge of the caterpillar and the left side of the flower would help a lot, here. The right side of the flower is sharp - but the left side and the back of Mr. Bug try to be in focus. Since they appear to be in the same plane, it's a confusing finished product. The blur tool would make the solution simple. The reds also seem to be a bit blown. Other than that, this is really cool. What a great portrait!
