Hosta and Friend

I saw this spent tulip petal in the hosta leaves. Adjusted the tulip a bit to get the lines working together...well, let's say that was my intent. Evening light.

Zeiss 35 mm, F22, polarizer, about 2 sec exposure, Nikon D300

Ken,

I'd say your implementation satisfied your intent. For my tastes this is an exceptional image. Great lines, perfect light, interesting texture and subject detail; and a rich, striking color structure. Hope you can tell I like this one.

I like the dark almost mysterious feel of this image. The colors work very well together.

First rate composition, lighting and rendering of textures, Ken. This has an extraordinary, almost surreal feel to it which I like a lot.

Ken:
Great vision to place the petal on the leaves to make this very engaging image. Love the lines in the leaves and the color contrast of the petal.

The purple color matches the cold WB mood in this photo. The curves formed by the whitish edges of the big leaves also add so much to the beauty. Great work, Ken :toast:
