Lily of the Valley

I find these flowers hard to compose with in the ground so I picked one and laid it on several of its leaves for various pictures. I also posted a reworked close-up picture of these flowers in the macro gallery. Sorry you can't experience their glorious smell through these pictures!

Canon Rebel T1i. 90mm macro lens. F/22 for 1/8 sec. ISO 100.

I like the comp and color in this image very much. Great detail also. Every time I see these flowers I think of my Grandmother, she had a large patch of them behind her house. Thanks for sharing.

Carolyn: Great idea to arrange these against the leaf - a fine backdrop. Well conceived and executed. >=))>

The thumbnail doesn't do this justice Carolyn. Beautiful image and the leaves are the perfect bg.

Lovely study in textures, Carolyn - the lilies look so right on these leaves you can almost smell them ! Extremely well composed too.

Carolyn:
The diagonals of the leaves complements the arching curve of the flower stem. I like the image in macro better as I like looking into the flower more.

Excellent DOF management, Carolyn. I know these are not easy flowers to shoot. You did exceedingly well here. Both this and the one in the Macro Gallery are superb. I don't think comparing them is fair at all
