The Gift

I am not posting this image for critique, for me it is to share and in some ways, heal..

The Gift
Today with my father lying in a hospital bed with his life slipping away, I had the urge to walk by the river bank along the back of my property when I found these baby Carolina Wrens leaving their nest for the first time. As I listened to the parent Wrens coaxing them along while the babies Wrens in their clumsiness clinging to the branches finding their balance, flapping their wings to get them to work right so they can keep up with their parents, I realized this is the order of Life!

I lost my mother two months ago and now my father not expecting to make it through the week, I found a certain amount of sadness, peace, joy and happiness, while watching these babies starting their first week of life.

For it is the order of life, live and enjoy it…so you do not find yourself one day standing alone wishing you had not lived life to the fullest!

My father did…..go with God dad……you will always be in my heart…………..

As I write these words to share, for I am not a poet, it is helping me fine peace!

I do not know those of you that share this website, what I do know is, each day you capture life through the lens of a camera. There is nothing to big or small. You all capture the beauty of life to share with others and for you to cherish. Don’t lose sight of that………

Hi David:

I marvel at how photography can help us all heal and provide such enjoyment. I remember vividly when I lost my Dad that I got up early the next day, and captured an amazing sunrise. I gave it to my Mom to remind all of us that the sun will continue to rise even though it felt so dark. I hope you can find the light in these seemingly dark days.

Very sorrowful for your loss, and your fathers last days, may they be filled with your presence and the Lords for your Father.

Hi David,
I hope you can continue to find solace in your photography during these difficult times. It's a wonderful shot of the baby wren.

Dave,

A wonderful tribute and analogy for your dad, a great guy.
May you find peace in the fact that he lived a full life,
and helped you to appreciate nature and the way of life.

Thanks for sharing!

Dave, I just lost my mom a few months ago and my dad a few years ago, so I do know how you are feeling. Just know that you will never really be alone. They will always be with you and you with them. Only time can heal the pain, and then only to a certain extent, seek the peace and joy that nature can bring. It really does help and the images you capture now will be all the more powerful as time goes on and the memories come back. Take care and be strong.

David, you've already considered a wonderful analogy, which you've put to words, "The Order of Life". But the other words you mentioned, "go with God, Dad", those are the best ones, because that thinking does heal.
