You Caught My Eye

This is my first post in the Avian Gallery. Since recently, I found bird photography very engaging and I have been pursuing it rather feverishly with varying degrees of success. This Blue Heron, although somewhat alarmed by my presence, nevertheless allowed me to approach him very close and to my surprise, just went on about its fishing business as if I wasn't even there. This unexpected occurrence allowed me to take several close up shots of this beautiful bird.

Welcome to the avian gallery, Anna. A delightful first post, btw. I like the very sharp hair eye and bill areas a lot. They stand out nicely agains the less sharp neck. And great exposure, too.

Welcome to NPN avian Anna, a fine first post, I like your composition but I might take a sliver off the left. I like that small strip of brown at the top of the frame, it's almost like a border. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work. :toast:

Welcome. Nice image with excellent detail. I like the lighting from the back-yet still plenty for the face and bill. Good yellows here. Agree about a little off the left.
