Hi Folks - Happy Memorial Day Weekend to all our Vets!

Here's a scarlet tanager male that may have just arrived from its northward migration - looking a little disheveled  . Taken in Crane Creek State Park, Ohio May 6th.

Nikon D2X, Nikkor 300mm f2.8 + TC-14E, 1/250s @ f5, ISO 200; SB-800 @ -2 2/3 EV & Fresnel lens. Adobe CS2= level, curves, brightness & contrast & minor desaturation of reds plus burning of bright areas on birds' breast.

Your Comments & critiques are most welcome.

Disheveled or not, you've captured exquisite detail Julie, I especially love the way you've managed to expose this just right so we can discern the pupil from the brown of it's iris, very well done :^)

Superbly done! Love how you've controlled the red channel. I have yet to see one of these beauties.
