WC485 - Sore Thumb Phlox

This is a 'cram' shot of a patch of phlox in a neighbor's yard. A cram is made by 'cramming' the lens into the blooms (effectively shooting through or past blooms) to create a color wash.

With this shot I cloned in just a tad of color over just one or two tiny spots to help them to be as soft as the rest of the shot already was.

Any and all thoughts appreciated!

Nathan

Very intriguing use of DOF! My only nit is that the flower that is in focus is maybe a little too obscured by the out of focus leaves in front of it.

Two thumbs up for this picture, Nathan! Those stamen sure do stand out like sore thumbs. Love the soft, dreamy feel to this with the burst of sharpness and contrasting color by the stamens. Great comp too,

An interesting technique and a beautiful result, Nathan. The softness all around definitely makes those two sore thumbs stand out!

Very nice. I like it. The subdued tones throughout most of the image combined with that spot of striking color makes the shot. :toast:
