Western Bluebird

I live on the Back Bay in Newport Beach, CA. Our backyard is East Bluff Park and the Wildlife Preserve and bay beyond. My neighbor has a bird house where Western Bluebirds have nested. The male and female have taken turns feeding the babies in shifts, giving me wonderful photo opportunities from my patio. While taking shots of the pair, the male became camera shy and flew to a Eucalyptus tree in the park. I used a Nikon D300 with a 400 MM lens. F5.6 1/2000 ISO 400

Nice color, but it does seem a bit soft. I like the position of the bluebird, the tree sets it off well. Nice BG. Thanks for sharing.

John,
Forgive my ignorance, but can you help me understand what you mean by "soft"? Thank you for taking time to make a comment. I am learning a lot from seeing comments on a multitude of photos.

Wonderful color and perch, but I would agree, slightly soft/out of focus. I might have chosen to place the bird further to the left and lower in the frame. I do like your wider crop including more of the Eucalyptus
