Emu

Emus are amazingly curious. Sit under some camo, make a few strange noises, wave a hand in the air and voila.
I've even had them come up quietly behind me and the first inkling I had of their presence was their shadow passing in front of me on the ground.

cheers

Super shot ! Its a treat looking at the feather detail, especially those fish bone like ones. The dry browns in the backdrop give it a nice outback touch.

Interesting story that brought a laugh to start the day, that would be something to only see their shadow and not hear them approaching. Wonderful detail on the larger version and I like how the background lines up with the Emu colors along the the neck, well done Rob, way to go.

Sounds like they're stealthy critters indeed ;^)

Absolutely beautiful work you made of those feather details Rob, terrific job! Compared with Ostriches, the Emus head is real small, or so it would appear, but they're equally intriguing and fascinating to look at, many thanks for sharing and widening my smile all the more :^)
