Rufous Hummingbird

Same bird as my last pose six frames (and less than a second) earlier. Amazing technology we have available. I cropped this one considerably tighter and did a little cloning to reduce the bottom clutter.

1DMkIV, 500mm f4 + 1.4TC, Black Widow on Gitzo legs, f8, 1/1250, iso 800, Av mode with -1/3 compensation, cropped from 16MP to 4.9. Noise reduction on bg and a bit more sharpening than the last one. Taken at 7:10 pm on June 3rd.

As always, you comments are greatly appreciated.

Thanks for looking,

Nice straight forward image with perfect focus on the behavior. Nice to see it not at a feeder!

Just beautiful. Lighting is great and the wing position gives optimal viewing of the iridescent body. Nice and sharp.

Wow that is nice. Nice hell that is fantastic. Wings totally detailed and very, very nearly stopped, feet folded in tight. They don't come much better that this. :jump: :jump: :jump:

Very nice Dennis. Super sharp where it needs to be. Classic hummer pose. I might clone the brightest twig in the lower part of the foreground. Nicely captured.

Love the wings forward pose and beak deep within this great looking red flower. The arching stem and small buds add nicely Dennis.
Well done :toast:
