In Bed with the Enemy

This is my first post on NPN, and I look forward to being part of this community. I have had lots of inspiration from here over the years.

Hopefully this doesn't breach the Hand of Man Rule -

The coast of Northern Spain where we live isn't over-populated in any way, but some of the nicest areas are quite close to small towns or villages, and some light pollution is common. Instead of avoiding this one, I decided to embrace it, the sea mist creating a great sunset-like glow for this night image.

Nikon D3x 14-24 @ 14mm - 3 images manually blended.

Welcome to NPN Allister! Beautiful first post. I like the lead in that the seaweed covered rocks provide.

Hey Alister - glad to have you aboard here at NPN and look forward to your participation. Gorgeous first post - the reflected color off the water and rocks looks great IMO. Well done.

Great to see you on NPN Alister. Wonderful deep light and mood in this shot sir and nice work on manually blending for tonal balance. Very memorable. When I first viewed it I had the feeling that it was tipped slightly to the left but it was an optical illusion because now when I look at it everything looks properly aligned and level.

Welcome to NPN Alister. It's hard to believe the glow is from light pollution. It looks so orange. I love the sky and your composition has nice juxtaposition too. Looking forward to seeing more. Solid work!

Welcome to NPN. The vibrant sky colors, wet rock reflections with water leading you into the image all work for me. At first glance I thought the image might need a slight horizon correction but it may be the way the water rescinds from the coast and the rocks. A wonderful first post and I really enjoyed the images are your website, very creative and excellent work.

Welcome! Looks like you made peace with the enemy quite well! Very nice colors in the glow. Is that a tree on top of the rock?

Welcome Alister.
Amazing glow that well seen and utilized.
Compositionally I find the s curve from foreground to bg works but is a little disconnected
there where it crosses between the rocks to the sea.
Magic stuff.

From the thumb i assumed the title referred to Photoshop, never would have guessed the light pollution aspect. An interesting shot, eye-catching for sure. I kind of like the top 2/3 (colorful seascape) and bottom 2/3 (weird abstract) better than the whole, but its an odd combo and i suppose odd is ok here. Welcome to NPN, i look forward to more from you! :wavey:
