Claret-Cup Cactus

This image was taken in Zion National Park along the Pa'Rus trail. It was getting later in the day and light was dimming and I did not have my tripod with me. This was shot on the ground bracing knees, elbows and everything else to get the camera study enough to shoot the image. Then I shot many frames to get one reasonably sharp. Thanks for your comments. They are appreciated.

Gorgeous color in this Richard. The image seems admirably sharp to me, especially given the shooting conditions you describe. I actually might darken the bg a touch more but that's entirely subjective. Beautiful specimen image.

Very nice. The colors are super. Looks amazingly sharp for 1/20. Talk about steady hands. You should be a surgeon.

Nice blooms Richard. I like the number of spines that you included.

Ah, the joys of wildflower photography, in the dirt, spines, etc. This pic is well worth your efforts. Looks nice and sharp. I really like seeing the two flowers in different stages of maturity and the colors in the top flower make it look like it was lit from within.

Great shot...1/20th...you made sure that what might have lacked in a steady hand....was offset by plenty attempts...lol. I am sure this was delightful to see when placed on the screen! Well done! Ken S
