Yosemite Falls Reflected

This photograph was taken on May 16, 2011. I believe the location was Cook's Meadow, but I welcome a correction from someone more familiar than I with Yosemite. Much water had accumulated in the meadow, enabling a reflection shot of Yosemite Falls. This is a six image HDR.

Nikon D300 ,Nikkor 12-24mm f/4G ED-IF AF-S DX

Thanks for looking. Comments and critiques welcome.

This is exactly why i was so puzzled by your last post, Jay--because this is AWESOME, its very creative, original, very well composed, and keeps you looking. Two minor suggestions: crop out the cloud at top, and introduce a bit more contrast overall (HDR has a habit of stealing contrast). Excellent! :toast:

Jay, I appreciate the way you show the falls in their surroundings. The reflection is a perfect counterpoint to my eye.

I agree with Stan about adding a bit more contrast jay, comp works for me and love all the details.

Lovely. The soft colors work especially well here. I don't really see an issue with the contrast. The soft light seems more related to saturation, IMO. It's softer than we normally see here, but with this image, I think it works.

This one definitely sings more Jay. The reflection adds a lot! I actually like it with a bit cropped off both the left and right to focus on that sweet center a bit more, and I too would add just a touch of contrast.

This is spectacular Jay.
Nice composition and balance the cloud as noted is a distraction.

But even without reading the text I can tell its HDR even at this size. I think its the micro contrast particularly on the cliffs.
Its quite likely printed it would look fantastic.

Well done.

Very nice Jay. A very pleasing view and I like the conditions you shot this in. A nice quiet and relaxing feel. I agree the upper left cloud is a bit of a distraction. Well done!

A beautiful image, Jay, there is a nice painted feel to it. Excellent work with the comp and blend. I don't mind the crop the way it is, but perhaps a small vignette might hold the viewer in the center a bit more. The image also seems a tad on the cool side to me, but it's just a personal choice.

the HDR has reduced contrast leaving the image a little flat - bring some back, i'd say! also agree with the cloud crop. nice work - i like this!

Jay - A very natural HDR image. The spring foliage in the mid-ground really make this sing. Nicely done.
