John:
This is fantastic. The black bg works really well to showcase these two beauties. Great placement on the frame and the flowers are facing just the right way to show the centers in both. Congrat on a very beautiful image.

Beautiful work John. These really show well against the black. As a documentary image i think your composition is perfect. As an alternative, not an improvement, I might consider a tighter crop on the blooms, removing some of the foliage. I'd just like to see more of the blooms.
Given the stack, the detail is exceptional of course. Very fine image.

Thanks both.
Pat -yes here is a cropped one . It does seem to add a bit of attention to the blooms themselves. Your right again

Like how the black background makes the plant stand out. In your cropped version you have clipped the leaf on the upper left... suggest redoing and leaving entirely in. Another possibility would be a white background which would give it more of a fine art botany print feel. Lots of options here for this beautiful flower and image.

The crop is better. It puts so much more emphasis on the flowers. Quite lovely.
