Spider Web Water

After a sunrise chase, I spotted a spiderweb in the morning light on the way home. I put my manual focus 55mm lens on and crouched around in the weeds trying to get a focused shot, which was a challenge since the accursed breeze was blowing just enough to give me a hard time. I always find myself yelling at the sky, "Gimme a break, will ya?" when I'm trying to get spider web water shots because any wind at all will make that sucker move out of focus. I changed the color to black and white in Capture NX and added contrast to make the water beads pop.

Shirley ....love the monochrome effect here...and looks like a hanging bridge across a valley. Well seen

Shirley,
I like the b&w choice. Very nice image. :toast:

A very nice image of what I think is a tricky subject to make work, particularly as you have mentioned, the slightest breath of wind and the image is ruined! The choice of black and white I think is a good one here just focusing on the web and water droplets, my only nit would be that maybe it could be slightly sharper, looks slightly soft on my monitor.

I was out yesterday yelling at the wind too. Nice find. I love raindrops on spider webs and you did great with this. The beads really do pop; like the processing you did for this.

Very nice. I like the structure, the clarity, and your choice of a B&W treatment,

Nice geometric design (thanks to nature), and water droplets too!

A minor nit: the black frame seems unnecessary. It made me think for a moment that there was something wrong with the edges.of the image.

Thanks for all the comments. I have a hit and miss thing going on with this site thanks to editing all kinds of shots I recently took.
