Very nice feel to this one Verdon; not just a sharp, well exposed flight photo, but artistic. Love how the avocet stands out from the watery background.

Very nice shot of America's most photogenic shorebird. Good definition of the bird against the background and very good techs.

Marvelous capture and beautiful image Verdon, really like this one a lot :^)
If you happened to have cropped this one, unless there were some distracting elements you wished to remove or the subject was already too far over in the RH side of the frame, I think more space around the Avocet might create an even more pleasing picture.

Verdon. Great detail and super sharpness. I like the clarity in the eye and the wing position. Very nice indeed.

Very nicely done Verdon! The thumb doesn't do this justice. I agree with Ashley about extra room if you have it. If not, great job fitting her into the frame

The comp looks spot on to me Verdon, I like the dangling legs and head which is surrounded by both wings. It looks to me like you have a sharpening halo. Selectively sharpening only the bird and not the bg would help eliminate the halo. Sweet shot.

I tried all weekend to get an avocet in flight and here you are with an excellent one. Congrats on that.
