Mount Geryon

by Dennis Harding

Gallery: LandscapePosted June 15, 2011406 views17 comments
Mt Geryon was named after the three headed monster from Greek mythology.
This mountain is part of the Du Cane Range, Cradle Mountain - Lake St Clair National Park, Tasmania, Australia.
I could not raise the camera any higher when making the exposure so I have cloned out the intersection of the tree with the mountain reflection.

Thanks for looking and any comments welcome.

I love vivid shots like this one where the blues and the yellows push each other. Great example that it doesn't always have to be dusk or dawn to get wonderful images.

Pretty darned nice. The warm light on the fagus makes the foreground come alive. The pristine beauty of winter-autumn is well captured.

Always loved this shot, Noodles. And I know how fast in changing light you had to work. As much as any Tasmanian photograph I've seen, this shows how lovely a place it can be.

Crispy, clear with nice color combination. Couldn't figure out the time of day this was shot; good job.

Talk about a perfect reflection! Beautiful light too. Glad I came back and looked at this on my computer, since my phone did not do it justice.

The bright yellows add mix well with the snow and blue. Very crisp; feels cold!

This is a stunning shot, Dennis...incredible clarity, and the warm tones of the fagus lift the f/g in great contrast to the cool lake and snow.
