Creamy Breeze

Not a really unique view for local Southern Colorado folk, but certainly unique for a flatlander from Illinois. Took a week tour through the Mile High State with my family using it as a scouting trip with some photography ( very little) along the way. Very windy the two days we were at the Dunes and hazy from the fires in Arizona. Certainly this place is a haven for wide angle and intimate photographs.

Canon 7D
200mm
1/15, ISO 100

Absolutely wonderful, Mitch. One of the best shots from here I have ever seen. The foreground textures/colors and atmosphere from the wide is what really shows it off!

Looks like a painting from the thumbnail and opened up as well. What is quite nice is the consistent 45 degree lines up top.
Lovely shot. It also has nice mood for such strong light.
Nicely done

As a fellow southern Illinois'er, yes I would be pretty excited to have this view too! Very nice.

That's a nice image, Mitch. Not the ordinary light for this place, but it certainly works well in this image.

Really nice layers in this one Mitch, and the hazy backdrop works really well.

Love it Mitch! Each of the different layers is fascinating. What makes the foreground so gold?

This ROCKS! Very much a feast for the eyes, and if this is "scouting", what will you come up with when you're really "working the scene"!?!

Beautiful layers, light, and muted colors! I would say that you have taken a fairly standard view of the dunes and made it unique! Well done! :toast:

Mitch, I do like this image. Perhaps a slight crop off the bottom to really accentuate the mtns.

Very nice indeed. The wind added a nice little glowing touch along the tops of the dunes and the angle of the shadows complements the angle of the dunes very effectively.

Very nice, MItch! Ive shot this scene probably a hundred times, and it never grows old, the light and conditions are always changing--and it looks like your timing was just perfect here! :toast:
