Emerald Stream
by Robert Stough
This is a shot from a couple of years ago taken down in the Seneca Creek canyon in West Virginia. The flow is coming from behind the camera down a long straight flume before pouring sideways into a lower flume. This is deep in a densely wooded, narrow gorge and the forest glow on the shadowy stream was almost iridescent.

The reflection is very cool, but the URC seems a bit chaotic.
Iridescent is right! I've seen this before with the intense greens and reflections. However, I think it's a little much. Specifically not really because of the water, but from another clue. To me, the green and yellow in the mosses on the steep bank in the lower right just next to the pool of water just look a little out of whack to me - almost cartoonish. If it weren't for this little area, I find the vegetation in the bg and for the most part the reflections in the pool to be believable. I don't know if you or anyone else see that, but to me it detracts from the overall presentation. Which, I think is very nicely captured. You've got a very unique setup and perspective as it's not often we get to see a cascade like this from an angle like this. There's also a green cast in the water, but considering your description and all the reflected and absorbed green in this little gorge, again that's believable.
Don't mean to harp on that, as I can certainly believe the greens were intense, but I would consider selectively backing off some areas in this one. Just my two cents.
