Spotted this little yellow chick perched on the top of shrubs at the side of a gravel road at Rockefeller Park, NY. He was so close I had to back up to take this shot. Within minutes both parents were there and I got his ID. I watched from the other side of the road as hikers, joggers and a big farm vehicle kicking up dust went by. In between the parents fed him. After a while he scrambled back into the brush. Nikon D300s with 300mm f2.8 lens and 1.4tc. ISO-400, f-6.3, shutter-1/320. Thanks, comments and critique welcomed, thanks. - Ray

Really nice comp Ray. Love all the greens and they go well with the yellow bird. Great sharpness and detail in the larger version. Neat ear tuffs.

Love the "ears" - really nice image.
Bright colours - the greens are perfect with the yellows. Nice pose, very fine detail - lovely image!

Love the goofy look of the youngster Ray. Might be nice to see the tail better but the strengths of the image certainly outweigh that IMO. Well done.
