Alien Exit

I took this photograph this morning and decided to make it a little more alien than the original. I used HDR (HDR Efex Pro) on the single image to spruce up the colors and some watercolor (Snap Art) to help the bg a bit.

All comments most welcome. Please see the large version for detail.

1D Mark IV, EF100 mm f/2.8 Macro, MR-14EX Ring Lite, hand held: ISO 800, 1/100 s, f/16, 0 EV, 11.9 MP (74% of the 16 MP full frame of this camera), NR, exposure adjustment, sharpening.

The colors really pop and the blossom with bug stands out from the bg nicely. I really like the texture in the blossom and the position of the insect.

The colors really pop and I like the 50:50 composition of background:subject. I would like to see deeper into the flower, but that wouldn't be photo art.

Eye popping color. I like the effects you achieved on the BG.
