Azolla- a floating water fen which has been introduced or escaped and can smother a pool in no time at all.
Nothing special photo wise but I thought it looked pretty !!

It does look pretty John. It reminds me of a colored lace doilie. I think I've seen that pattern at my Grandmother's. (smile) Very fine composition, good light and I suspect your post processing did a lot to emphasize the pattern in this. Outstanding photography for my tastes.

Pretty it is. Do fish or waterfowl eat this plant? I don't believe it is common in the US,

Thanks Pat Levels certainly beefed it up a bit !
Charlie- Not that I know of, but I would imagine some fish do as it was commonest and the biggest problem in the pond which I have no fish in.

Hi John, I think you have wonderful patterns in this image, and I like it very much. I like the mixture of yellows, reds, and browns.

Fine lines and an overall pattern to attract the eye.

Minor suggestion: I would encourage you to darken the few lighter spots of browns, particularly in the upper left corner so that it matches the darker brown throughout the image. As it is now, my eye tends to head to the light brown spots and stay there rather than wander around the patterns.

Well seen and photographed.
