Great shot, Dan! As you know, I'm very picky about blown out highlights and this exposure is perfect. It has all the subtle details in the snow caps and glaciers plus an impressive amount of visibility in the shaded areas. Thanks for including the larger version, it makes quite a difference. Two questions (if you happen to see this comment): 1 - was this taken with your 7000 this year? & 2 - Have you ever tried a multiple frame stitched pano from a boat? I have, and was surprised at the quality of the result. You just need a fast shutter speed and be able to take the frames in quick succesion.

Thanks, Gary. This was taken with a D300 and in fact is two frames stitched together. They were taken handheld from a boat within a few seconds of one another. Modern software is amazing and I just use the cheap stuff. One thing I have noted when making panos is that you can get some major color gradients in blue skies if you use a polarizer.

Not rare light by most people's standards, but the location has its own beauty that's worth recording in just about any condition. Should have posted how much I like this a while ago.
