Into the Unknown

This lone individual heading into Great Sand Dunes Natl Park on a late extremely windy afternoon. The deep shadows and the blowing sand made me think of a lone adventurer heading into the great unknown.

Canon 7D
130mm @ f11
ISO 400, 1/2000
Handheld, 1 exposure

Larger photo can be printed and framed.. I love the shadows and play of light on the dunes.. The man's gait adds

Spectacular! The shadows and lone figure make this a great graphic image. I could see this on one of those inspirational posters. I'm not sure about the sand color, unsure if this was toned or more of the natural colors? but looks fantastic either way.

Wonderful sense of scale Mitch with beautiful sepia tones and light throughout.

Killer image bud....I think this is probably your best IMO. There are a few white specs in the lower quarter (unless it is this laptop screen) that are a little distracting, but very minor nits....awesome shot.

The tracks and the man really put the perspective into this shot. I would like the shadowed dunes in the background to be just a touch brighter.
