Had to persevere with the Sigma 150 macro which I have never really got to grips with. This is really because my 50mmSigma macro won't work on the new D7000 !
There's something about this shot that I like but can't honestly put my finger on. Maybe its the position of the wings.
D7000 Sigma 150mm Monopod
640 ISO 320th sec @f 14
Levels in Paint Shop Pro 60% of full frame.
Neat image
Sharpened CZM
Have a look at the biggie>

It's a shot I'd be very pleased with John and I can see why you like it. The wing position is attractive and both wings are sharp throughout. I find these quite a difficult species to photograph as they tend to stay at ground level when they're active, rarely perching on anything that has a bit of 'space' behind it.

The angle makes this image for me John, very different and I really like it   :wavey:

The angle of the wings and detail bring this up a level.

Great detail, helped by the lovely soft light. Nice one, John.

A cracker John. The plane of focus just grabs the subject perfectly, whilst showing the enviro.

Works very well for me.
